Atlantic Dulse

Nutritious Atlantic Dulse flakes are milled from Atlantic Dulse leaves, a popular red sea vegetable which is harvested from the Atlantic ocean. Atlantic Dulse adds a unique smoky and salty flavour – Dulse is commonly referred to as the vegan bacon – as well as a beautiful crimson colour to a variety of dishes. It is rich in micronutrients which are essential for optimal health.

Dulse flakes are a popular smoothie ingredient used in cleansing and detoxing smoothies as Dulse is strongly associated with the collection and removal of heavy metals and toxins.

 

Irish Moss

Irish Moss is an amazing sea vegetable, also referred to as Sea Moss (although technically they are from different species, but they are used in the same way). This incredible seaweed has been used for centuries to support a wide variety of ailments, from respiratory issues, bladder disorders, bronchitis, halitosis (bad breath), intestinal disorders and glandular problems to swollen joints, lung difficulties, thyroid conditions, tuberculosis, tumours, and ulcers.

 

Nori Seaweed

Nori is densly nutritions – offering excellent micronutrients such as iodine, and a good source of Vitamin B12 which is hard to find in a plant based protein, and has a good balance of minerals, trace elements and fatty 3 acids – vegans and vegetarians take note! Iodine is an essential nutrient for the production of a hormone called thyroxin which helps to regulate many body functions.

Red seaweeds have a general tonic effect on the body, strengthening the immune system. Traditionally Nori has been used in Chinese and other traditional medicine approaches to nourish the nervous system and improve resistance to stress. There are even studies showing Nori can relieve symptoms of cold, flu and other viral infections.

These seaweed flakes have a delicate savoury, smoky and slightly salty flavour. This product is a finalist in the New Zealand Food awards 2021 in the Artisan Food Category!

It’s a gluten free, raw, dairy and soy free seasoning which will add a range of essential micronutrients as well as wonderful umami flavour to your food. Many are using this product as an alternative to salt as it has a naturally salty flavour, thanks to the seaweeds, but a far greater mineral content thanks to the seaweeds. It adds a splash of colour to your plate and is the ultimate carbon negative seasoning.
